Joel

Support Coordinator & Support Worker

I’m Joel — 38 years young and full of drive, both literally and figuratively! Whether I’m fine-tuning an engine, renovating my home with my partner, or advocating for NDIS participants, I bring dedication, attention to detail, and a whole lot of heart to everything I do.

Helping people isn’t just something I do — it’s who I am. With years of experience as a Support Worker and SIL Team Leader, I’ve seen firsthand what quality support truly looks like (and where it’s often missing). That’s why I go above and beyond to ensure every client receives the care, respect, and results they deserve. NDIS has practically become my second language, and I approach every challenge with an “I can and I will” attitude until the right outcome is achieved.

Outside of work, I recharge by spending time in Tasmania with my niece and nephew, getting creative with home renovations, or cooking up something delicious in the kitchen. From a hearty sausage Bolognese to maple syrup cakes and classic Anzac biscuits — or even a simple bowl of ice cream with a generous sprinkle of Milo — cooking is my way to relax and express creativity.

With a background that spans from running my own cleaning business (hello, attention to detail!) to leadership roles in disability support, I bring energy, empathy, and excellence to every person and project I connect with. I’m excited to collaborate with the Snapdragon Support Services team and face new challenges with confidence and commitment. Let’s talk — and start the next part of your journey together.

Jacinda

Support Worker

The Heart-Driven Adventurer with a Passion for People

When I am not out exploring new places or planning their next adventure, you’ll probably find me surrounded by music, delicious food, and the laughter of my kids. A self-proclaimed foodie, my all-time favourite meal is a souvlaki with the lot (BBQ and garlic sauce included, of course!) from Jans Café — because life’s too short not to enjoy the good stuff!

Having personally navigated the ups and downs of healthcare and mental health systems, I bring deep empathy and real-world understanding to my work in support services. This experience sparked a genuine desire to make a difference — helping others feel seen, supported, and empowered as they move through their own journeys.

I believe one of the best parts of this role is meeting so many new faces and hearing their stories. Every connection adds to the joy and purpose of what they do — and that’s what keeps my passion shining bright.

Jason

Support Worker
Meet Jason: The Outdoorsman with a Heart for Helping

Hi, I’m Jason! If I’m not lending a hand, you’ll probably find me outdoors – fishing by the water, camping under the stars, mountain biking through the bush, or sneaking in a round of golf. I’ve always had a deep appreciation for nature, movement, and making the most of every day.

Before stepping into the support sector, I spent nearly 30 years as a greenkeeper on a golf course. That experience taught me patience, precision, and pride in seeing something grow – skills that now serve me well as I support others to reach their personal goals.

Switching careers has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I love building genuine one-on-one connections, celebrating every achievement (big or small), and learning from the incredible people I work with every day. Their resilience, humour, and individuality constantly remind me why I do what I do.

When I’m not outdoors, I’m probably enjoying a great meal and even better company. I’m a big fan of Italian food – especially when paired with a good red wine – but you can’t beat a classic barbecue surrounded by family and friends. I’m also a proud Melbourne Football Club supporter and lifelong sports lover, having spent years playing soccer and coaching young players to chase their own goals on and off the field.

Leeanne

Support Worker
Meet Leeanne – The Heartfelt Helper with a Need for Speed and a Love for Home!

When it comes to supporting others, Leeanne brings warmth, laughter, and a genuine passion for making everyday life a little easier for those who need it most. She loves helping clients tackle the things many of us take for granted—like setting up a cozy home or getting organised—turning tricky tasks into moments of joy and achievement.

One of her favourite memories? Helping JD declutter and add some flair to her unit with new curtains and soft furnishings—both ended the day smiling (and maybe showing off their decorating skills!).

When Leeanne’s not spreading good vibes with the Snapdragon team, you’ll find her lending a hand in her son’s Royal Enfield motorcycle shop or helping her husband in his Harley-Davidson workshop—because support runs deep in her family too!

At heart, Leeanne’s a proud homebody who treasures quiet moments and quality time with her grandkids. With her caring nature, fun spirit, and hands-on approach, she’s a shining part of what makes Snapdragon Support Services so special.

Joy

Recovery Coaching
Meet Joy – The Titanic Baker

Hi, I’m Joy! 😊 I’ve always been a people person and take genuine pride in being able to brighten someone’s day. Working in support services allows me to do that in meaningful, lasting ways—and it’s why I love what I do.

At Snapdragon, I truly feel part of a family. Both the clients and staff are incredibly welcoming, and there’s a strong sense of connection and community that makes every day rewarding. One of my most memorable moments was taking a client to an art gallery featuring artists with disabilities. Seeing her light up and hearing her say it inspired her to explore her own creativity was incredibly powerful and a beautiful reminder of why this work matters.

I was also a Plan Writer for the NDIS for many years.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends and keeping active at the gym. I also love baking cakes and experimenting with new recipes—it’s my creative outlet, and sharing what I bake brings me just as much joy as making it.

Fun fact about me? I’ve never seen Titanic… and yes, that always shocks people!

Bec

Support Worker
Meet Bec – The highly talented Break Dancer!
About Me – Bec

Hi, I’m Bec! 😊 I was drawn to support services through my passion for helping people grow, build confidence, and overcome challenges so they can achieve their goals. I believe everyone deserves to feel supported, empowered, and respected as they work towards the life they want.

I love working with Snapdragon because the organisation truly values individuality, genuine support, and teamwork. It’s a place where people are treated with care and respect, and that positive culture flows directly into the support we provide.

One of my most meaningful experiences has been supporting someone to secure a private rental after a period of homelessness and time in social housing. The journey involved navigating significant barriers and required persistence, creative problem-solving, and commitment. What stood out most to me was their resilience and determination, even when faced with setbacks—it was incredibly rewarding to be part of that achievement.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time at home with my partner and our fur kids, as well as catching up with friends and family. I love visiting markets, listening to live music, and getting out into nature—whether that’s hiking, camping, or four-wheel driving. I’m also very creative and enjoy arts and crafts, DIY projects, gardening, and anything hands-on.

Fun fact about me: I took formal breakdancing lessons as a teenager and was the first in my class to master a headstand to a handstand—even though I was the only girl!
